The minutes of the last Annual General Meeting held 2nd November 1971 were read & confirmed there were no matters arising

Correspondence was read from JM Barlow Essex enclosing £1 for subscription & donation from Mrs A E Russo London enclosing 50p subscription from Mr A Hawkes Stevenage Herts, donation of £1 from Miss BD Snape £2 for subscription & donation & from Mr W Guest regretting his inability to attend meetings & enclosing cheque for £5

The secretary had sent appropriate replies to attend meetings & enclosing cheque for £5

The secretary had sent appropriate replies the to these & other correspondents since the last meeting & this was approved.

The secretary presented the Annual Report & Financial Statement showing a net profit on this years working of £15.23 & a balance in the bank of £104.61

This report had already been circulated to all members & was approved.

The Auditors reported the books to be in order & their report was accepted.

The chairman on behalf of the members thanked all the retiring Officers for their services during the past year

It was proposed by Mr G Marsh seconded by Mr N H Eyre & approved unanimously that Mr A L R

Hunter be re- elected President

Proposed by Mr W D Tear seconded by Mr S

Knowles that Vice Presidents be re-elected en bloc

It was agreed that the secretary should receive honorarium for of £6 & the treasurer £2

Proposed re- print of booklets "The English Tulip & its History (Barr & Sons 1897)

The secretary had received an estimated cost of about £60 for 500 copies from Chappell & Sons of Norbury. This to include an up to date description list of available varieties & & re-arranged format possibly incorporating a receipt design by Rory McEwan on the front cover.

It was felt that booklets could be produced cheaper elsewhere& certain members would make enquiries & report to the next ordinary meeting
