Mr WD Tear reported that his father Mr A Tear was still in Pinderfields Hospital & it was agreed a letter be sent by the secretary on behalf of the society with our best wishes while Mr Akers would make him a visit
Correspondence was read from Mr G T Knowles of Liverpool enclosing 5/- subscription from Mr J G Nassan a cheque for £1.55 subscription & dond donation from Miss B D Snape of York a cheque for £2.00 subscription donation from Mis F H Downey a cheque for £1 donation & from Mr George Senior Horbury a donation of £2
A letter was also read from Mr H W Laidlaw J P acknowledging our invitation for him to become President of our Society, which unfortunately he was unable to accept because of other commitments oHe & Mrs Laidlaw would however be pleased to accept our invitation to the 135th Annual Show
Correspondence was accepted & the Secretary was asked to write to Mr ALR Hunter inviting him to be President
The Secretary presented a report on the 1971 Shows in which the early show made a net profit of £ 2.83 & the Annual Show a net loss of 30.33p The report was accepted

A raffle for chocolates donated by Mr J Akers realised 21/- £1.05 & the meeting closed at 8.15pm
