This was the first record of where the Society had taken the show to a venue outside of Wakefield. It was a fully competitive show in Dewsbury unlike the ones which the Society undertook some 160 years later when after the show it was transported one hundred miles plus to be put on display at Dudmaston.
The schedule was virtually identical with the Annual Show which had been held one week previously though on this occasion the Self and Breeder classes had been combined.
Like the Annual Show, and several other shows of the period, it was held on a Monday, an unexpected day for exhibitors from a working class background.
