A meeting held 4th May 1908
present
Jesse Hardwick (in the chair), A.
Moorhouse, J. Wright, W. Tunnicliffe,
J. Taylor, R. Robinson, H. Ellis & I.
Whitworth
Minutes of previous meeting were
read & passed.
The Hon. Secretary read letter received
from Mr Needham with regard to the prize
for Novice Class offered by him when he
expressed a preference for its being given
in kind & the committee at once acquiesced
in his wish & agreed to accept a Copper Kettle.
It was also decided to arrange that
three prizes be given in the Novice Class
(if there were so many Exhibitors) —
Mr John Taylor kindly offering to give a
writing case — and the other prize was left
for arrangement later.
The question of transferring stands
from the amateur to the open class for
judgement was resumed from last meeting
when finally it was proposed by Mr A.
Moorhouse & seconded by Mr Whitworth
that an exhibitor be permitted to rearrange
or deal with his stands & flowers in any
way he may deem most desirable.
The question of number of points as a
basis for judgement was again considered &
it was agreed to leave the matter with the judges.
The Hon. Secretary was instructed with to write
to Mr G. Hill asking him to officiate as a judge
in the amateur exhibition if he did not
intend to be an exhibitor.
