The growing season had been a very bad one, excessive rain, keen ground frosts, hail storms and occasionally brilliant sunshine all tended to mar the blooms. Flowers were not so many as the previous year, mention must be made of the extraordinary blooms brought by

C W Needham perhaps the finest ever seen in Wakefield. The list of awards will confirm this. Appended in reprint form.
