Meeting opened at 6-40pm, our President Mr FR Hunter was in the chair. The minutes of the last meeting was read & confirmed. Corrispondance was then read & accepted.
Arising out of the corrispondace from the Royal Horticultural Society, it was pro J Akers, sec J Prest, that this society do not send delegates with a non competitive exhibit of English Florist Tulips to the RHS show at Chelsea this year. This resolution was carried in view of the damage done to members tulips by the terribke gale during the week previous to our meeting, But, it was also decided to put the matter on th e agenda next April, with a view to displaying a stand at Cheksea in 1948.
All members pledging to themselves to set aside a number of bottles for that purpose. Pro W Beddows, sce J Moutter that Annual Show this year be held on Sat & Sun, 24th& 25th of May. It was decided that Mr Midgly, Mr Beddows
Mr Robinson act as Judges at our annual show, also Mr Midgly and Mr N Eyre act as judges at Altofts show.
Decided to ask the Mayor & Mayoress Cn & Mrs H Watson to open our Annual Show. Next meeting to be on Sat the 10th of May.
