Mon 19th May 1941

The secretary in the intervening weeks before the Show, found that owing to the extreme cold & wet weather it would be impossible to have bloom ready for show on the 26th, and chartered a convayence and visited as many members as possible and finding them all in the same position decided to pospone the show until the following week.

Information was received from the Mayor that she was very sorry but would be unable to officiate at the altered Show, and Mr R Hunter kindly promises to officiate and the Show was duly carried through in good order, with a great array of some 800 Blooms and £10 was handed over to the Hospital Tresury
