Apologies for unavoidable absence were received from Mr R.A. Walker & Mr G. Foster.

The minutes of the last meeting were read & confirmed.

Correspondence. A letter was read from the Mayor’s Secretary confirming that the Mayor of Wakefield would open our 131st Annual Show at the Duke of York Hotel, Sandal on Saturday 20th May 1967 & would be accompanied by the Mayoress & Deputy Mayor & Mayoress.

A letter was read from Mrs E Coles of Bingley enclosing her subscription for 1967.

Also from Mr S. Bradley informing us that the Horse & Jockey at Altofts would be available for our early show on Saturday & Sunday 13th & 14th May 1967.

A letter was read from Miss Patricia A. Reid asking for information about our Society for inclusion in the Gardeners Year Book.

The secretary was instructed to supply the necessary information.

Show arrangements. It was agreed that Mr Hardman should be left to make arrangements for black cloth & vases.

Raffles. It was agreed that raffle tickets which were distributed to members present be be sold at 5 for 1/- or 3d each. & that the Society should provide ½ a bottle of Spirits as a prize for each of the Raffles. Other prizes for the Altofts Show were donated by Mr J. Akers, Mr A. Tear & Mr J. Hardman & for the Annual Show by

Mr C. Heptinstall, Mr J. Taylor & Mr J Fisher, the nature of the prizes to be stated at the next meeting.

It was agreed that bunches of flowers should be presented to the Mayoress & Deputy Mayoress, & that the Mayoral Party be officially welcomed by Mr A.L.R. Hunter.

It was agreed that adverts should be inserted in the Garden News, Normanton Advertiser & the Wakefield Express.

A raffle realised 18/-, three prizes being donated by Mr J Hardman, J Akers & A Tear.

The meeting closed at 8-30 PM & the next meeting fixed for Monday 1st May at the Duke of York Hotel at 7-30 PM.
