our chairman welcomed the members especially the member who had travel. from. the Midlands and the south. The Chairman announced with deep regret that our Pratron J.H. PERKIN. had passed away and asked the members to stand in respect.

The minutes of the last AG.M were read and approved.
correspondence. The secretary read letters from several people asking how they could obtain English Florist Tulip. Apparantly an article had been published in the Cottage Garden Society’s News letter with reference, to the Tulips and Quoting our Secretary’s address. The Secretary reported that he had answered most of them and asked if any member had seen the article.
Mrs. A Robinson. said she would write to that Society for a copy.
SECRETARY’S REPORT
Over the year there as been a steady intrest in the Society with an influx of new members. Unfortunatley the supply of bulbs can’t coup with the demand.. People think that we grow filds full and send. asking for
Dozens of each variety.
The Annual show is a great success again with 21 members exhibiting their blooms.
we are now getting New Names appearing on the prize cards.. The show made a small profit due to the members not taking the prize money and donations. Ones again I would like to Thank all the members who gave their time and support to make it a great day.
I have been Secretary for 15 years and now think it is time to retire. I have enjoyed doing the job and I hope that the Society as benefited over the years. Over this last year I have not devoted my time to the job to my satisfaction because of other demands.
TREASURERS REPORT
James Akers reported that books had not been finalised but the ????? were healthy he reported that the newsletter would again be sent out in the spring and this took a slice out of each members subscription and after a short discussion on the finances. Mrs A Robinson proposed that the subscription should be raised to £3.00 per member and £4.00 for a family. W.D. Tear seconded the proposition. it was carried.

DUTCH SHOW The date had been set for 5th May 1990. The venue Wrenthorpe Village Hall. After some discussion it was agreed that the society should seek sponsors to support the show. Mr W.D. Tear present the society with 3 Gold Medal for the years 1990 1991 1992 Mrs A Benson presented the society with a gold medal which had belonged to a member of her family.
She hoped that it could be adopted for a further year.
Decis Insecticide
James Akers gave a short ????? on the work in Holland on the steps to stop virus attack in Tulips. (No for the small grower).
Any Other Business
The members requested that the AGM should be held at the beginning of October each year and the spare bulbs distributed at the meeting.
SLIDE FROM THE 1989 SHOW.
A collection of slides were shown of the 1989 show and the new varieties so that members could get to know which are good shape and markings.
