This meeting was held at the Jockey Hotel Northgate, Wakefield. The minutes of the last meeting was read & duly confirmed.
Corrispondance was read & accepted.
Prize money was paid out to members, The treasurer reported having sent prize money to members living away. Mr Akers gave a good report on his visit to the RHS Show at Chelsea. A vote of thanks was passed to Mr Akers on his splendid report. It was decided to grant Mr Akers £5 for his expenses in attending Chelsea. Sec to write to Mr Stephenson & inform him that the Tulip Society will loan him the black italian cloth , on condition it is returned in good order,& he be thanked for the loan of vases etc to our Society
There was an open discussion on the Show in 1948, everbody being convinced that the Social Services Club had not been suitable for our annual show. Members discussed at some length our policy on future shows, the feelings being that the Darwin classes ought to be shown separate a week or so before the English.
Mr Hunter kindly gave some fruit & the auction realized 12/6. 2/6 of this was paid for rent of meeting room.
