Meeting held at Social servides Club Wakefield before a good attendance of members.

As were also the minutes of Society’s last meeting.
In corrispondance a letter & schedule from the Royal Horticultural Society was read & discussed & it was decided to stage an exhibit of Old English Florist Tulips at the Chelsea Show to be held on 26, 27, 28, May 1948. The Balance Sheet was then presented by the Secretary & Treasurer for 1947 the Society having £41-11-1 in Bank & 6/4 in hand. This was accepted and passed as a true statement. Mr Eyre gave an auditors report on Balance sheet & was thanked for same.It was decided to elect en-block the 1947 officials for the year 1948. On the proposition of W Beddows, sec J Akers it was decided to grant the Secretary the sum of £3 for his services in 1947. It was passed that our Annual Show be held on 22nd & 23rd of May 1948. This was in view of the fact that 2 of our Officials could then take the pick of the English Florist Tulips from Show & any other blooms, which members care to send, down to Chelsea to be exhibited before 5pm on Tuesday the 25th May.
The secretary was instructed to obtain all details of RHS Show etc. During open discussion it was decided that in future, the Society’s finance not be disclosed on our Schedules, in the form of a Balance Sheet, but a Patrons List to be printed.
The President Mr F R Hunter suggested a sub-committee be formed to go into Prize Monies & the general working of Society, but this did not meet with the approvsl of members so then the Prize Money of our New Classes of Darwins were gone into & the following was carried.

Mr J Davis was carried to become a member of our society. Our President then undertook to make the arrangments for booking the Social Services Club for our Annual Show on 22nd& 23rd of May 1948. also to pay the proper Authority for our Annual Meeting.
